Got the Need for Speed?
The OC Ski Club participates in the New York Capital District Ski Council (NYCDSC) Giant Slalom (GS) every season. All OC members, applicants and their children are welcome to participate. There is no cost to you other than your lift ticket.
Races typically take about two hours and the courses are placed on trails that most intermediate skiers/boarders can navigate. Most racers are alpine (downhill) skiers, but snowboarders and telemark skiers are welcome, as well.
The Council races count for points toward year-end trophies, as well as prizes for each individual race based on age class.
Who can race?
Skiers and boarders of all skill levels are welcome to race, as are juniors under 18 (who are children or relatives of members).
If you are interested in racing, please contact us or catch us at the OC club meetings. We're always looking for new racers!
Racing classes include:
- Mens/Womens open
- Vets age 40-55
- Super Vets age 56+
- Juniors age 7-17
- Snowboard and Telemark (if there are sufficient participants)
How to sign up
If you plan to race in any of the Council races, please contact us to let us know which races you will participate in.
You must also fill out an OC waiver and a NYCDSC waiver each season.
